Tortoiseworks Art and Craftswork

Patricia Cook (Patty) is an artist based in Redding, CA.  While not formally schooled in pastel painting, she has been a "student" of artists she admires and extensively reviews techniques and takes classes in various aspects of pastel artistry.     Patty finds painting en plein air enjoyable and challenging, and seeks out the natural beauty that is the legacy of Northern California.  

A new facet in artwork is monotype printing, with the inclusion of pastels and the occasional multimedia.

Assemblage art is also pursued by Patty, as an expression of life as she interprets it.  She especially enjoyed making the "nest" series as well as the "time deconstructed" pieces.

Patty has a studio that is part of a larger workshop, in which woodworking is her husband David's passion.  Pastels, assemblage art, and prints can be viewed by appointment.
